Paddle Out Protest
16 May 2026
Victoria Park Newbury

Paint those placards, and join us in demanding an end to sewage pollution at our peaceful protest on the Kennet and Avon Canal next to Victoria Park, Newbury.

Why paddle out

We will be building on the success of last year and protesting again on the on the grass next to the duck pond. as well as the canal itself.  We will be coming together with our fellow Surfers Against Sewage groups for a national day of action and showing water companies and regulators that they need to do better.  We invite our local community to come together to protest in the very space we want to protect – next to the water.  Everyone is welcome to join in, in a way that suits them. Let’s stand together against sewage pollution.

It's Dirty Business

If you are not aware of the state of our waterways, the recent Channel 4 real-life drama, Dirty Business highlights the horrifying issues with our water companies, pollution and corporate wealth.
