Plastic Free Newbury

We are so pleased that in July 2024, Newbury achieved Plastic Free Community Status from Surfers Against Sewage. Recognising the completing of the 5 objectives set out. These ensured that there is community commitment to genuinely reduce the volume of single use plastics in the environment.

However, we aren't planning to stop there. We aim to sign up more businesses, community groups, schools and work with Newbury and West Berkshire Councils to further reduce Newbury's single use plastics.
