Refuse / Reduce

Everything we do adds to our carbon footprint as it all requires energy to make it, which usually means fossil fuels. Refusing to buy something new and Reducing our consumption is the only way to truely reduce our footprint

Reuse / Repurpose / Repair / Refil / Refurbish

Reusing, repurposing, repairing, refilling and refurbishing something as much as possible, for it's original or a new purpose, reduces the need to buy more products & therefore our carbon footprint. It can also be cheaper.

Recycle

Recycling, although using energy, means that the raw materials can be used to make something new, rather than utilising new materials

Landfill

Sending items to landfill should always be the last resort. Landfills release harmful greenhouse gases, pollute soil and water, and take up valuable land, contributing to climate change and environmental degradation.
